Abraham Lincoln once said, “As a peacemaker the lawyer has superior opportunity of being a good man [person]. There will still be business enough.”
Using an engaging documentary-style format, Abraham Lincoln's exemplary qualities of legal and personal professionalism come to life - the qualities he demonstrated day in and day out in his law practice. There will be a live Chat Room discussion with a Moderator for attendees to explore the current context for Lincoln’s model of professionalism.

The mission of the ATLANTA BAR ASSOCIATION (Co-Producer of the Vignettes) is to promote professionalism and the fair administration of justice in its community and to provide programs and benefits that serve its diverse membership. In 2009, with the support of the Chief Justice’s Commission on Professionalism in Georgia and production management provided by Impact Media Solutions, Atlanta Bar Association CLE created the presentation of Lincoln on Professionalism in celebration of the Lincoln Bicentennial and 200th Anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s birth. Throughout that year Atlanta Bar Association CLE sponsored live programs with audience discussions in Georgia using the presentation of the Lincoln’s principles. They have made the vignettes available under a license with Periaktos Productions for our live webcasts and CLE Video on Demand.
THE CHIEF JUSTICE'S COMMISSION ON PROFESSIONALISM, (Co-Producer of the Vignettes), the first body of its kind in the nation, was created in 1989 by the Georgia Supreme Court with the primary charge to enhance professionalism among Georgia's lawyers. In carrying out its charge, the Commission provides ongoing attention and assistance to the task of assuring that the practice of law remains a high calling, enlisted in the service of client and public good. Composed of representatives of the organized bar, practicing bar, judiciary, law schools and the public, the Commission serves as the institutional framework for sustaining an environment that fosters professionalism in the legal community. The Commission's work centers around (1) educational programming; (2) periodic recommendations to the State Bar, the judiciary, and the law schools in Georgia; and (3) coordination of professionalism activities of the organized bar, courts, law schools, and law firms.
